cult classic

I am working on a image of a Cultist for a upcoming show at the Light Grey Art Lab in Minneapolis, where I will have two pieces. The primary show is a group show where each of us was assigned one of the Tarot, and asked to create an image to go in a deck the gallery will be putting together. There will also be prints available (on their site as well, I believe), and I will be sure to keep you posted on it - as well as some progress on my piece.

The complimenting show is more loosely based on mysticism and the occult, so I decided I would do a bit of a doom and gloom piece of a cultist whose ritual is coming to fruition. Working on both has be a lot of fun. Here's a couple of progress shots on the latter piece (enjoy!):

The gazelle was done as a demo for a painting lesson I was giving; oils, chromatic black and titanium white on canvas.. The Satyr was done for the love of it; oils, raw umber and a rag on canvas.

cheers.
